for the best electronic boards

PRODUCTION PROCESSES

Over the years we have constantly invested in technology and training to improve our production performance.
All production processes are performed within suitable environments, at controlled temperature and relative humidity, and comply with ESD (protection from electrostatic discharges) standards.

Below are the processes that as company we carry out in-house.

SMT Assembly

SMT Assembly

SMT mounting (Surface Mount Technology) has become the technology most utilized, thanks to small component sizes and the option of being soldered on both sides of the board.
We invest heavily in this process using machinery which is among the most sophisticated and technological present on the market, such as Pick & Place, SPI, AOI 3D, and inert atmosphere (nitrogen) reflow ovens. To support the process lines, there are automatic warehouses, with controlled temperature and relative humidity managing component traceability and real-time inventory alignment.

THT assembly and
soldering technologies

THT assembly was the first technology used to make electronic assemblies. It is depicted as components equipped with leads that are inserted into holes drilled in printed circuit boards and soldered to pads, and is often combined with SMT technology. Component assembly onto the printed circuit board is carried out using automatic or manual inserters. At EAS, the soldering process occurs using automatic selective soldering machines, or wave soldering machines in an inert atmosphere (nitrogen) using double vibrated wave technology.

Process controls (SPI, AOI, X-Ray)

Process controls
(SPI, AOI, X-Ray)

Process controls are fundamental for process standardization and defining continual improvement. In particular, in the SMT process, the SPI 3D machines are used to check the spreading of the solder paste, while the AOI 2D or 3D machines are used to check the correct component positioning and soldering. To confirm solder quality when it cannot be inspected on the surface (eg BGA, μBGA) we use an X-RAY 3Dmachine. All of these verifications ensure zero-defect process.

Testing

All of your products go through a series of checks and tests to ensure maximum reliability and specification compliance. We are equipped to carry out Programmable Devices programming, Electrical Safety Testing, ICT and Functional tests with Flying-Probe or bed of nails fixtures and tests in an Environmental Test Chamber. Our qualified personnel engineer and develop test systems using the National Instruments LabVIEW interface, as well as designing and manufacturing bed of nails fixtures in-house.
Every test performed is recorder and archived to ensure traceability. From defect analysis, we can get to the root cause for continual improvement of the processes and the quality of Your product.

Cleaning, conformal coating, potting

potting

The conformal coating (or tropicalization) ensures the electronic product’s performance even in environments with adverse conditions, such as dust, humidity, salt, or other atmospheric agents. At EAS, the controlled, precise depositing of polyurethane, acrylic or silicone conformal coating takes place using three separate robotic production lines. We also have a manual deposit, immersion and potting system with a drying cabinet. To ensure the removal of any impurities on the electronic boards, we use an automatic cleaning system with water-based products.

Depaneling

To warrant maximum quality and reliability, we use a system for the automatic contour routing of assembled boards. This process is particularly suitable for the separation of electronic boards into panels with a sealing system using a witness mark. Using a micro-cutter, this system eliminates the witness marks, separating the electronic boards.

To round off the services offered, EAS also produces a variety of electromechanical and pneumatic assemblies, cabinet and electronic equipment wiring with any dedicated packaging.
We take care of the procurement of all materials and their storage in our warehouses. We are able to manage a KANBAN service, to constantly feed the production lines and reduce the customer's warehouse costs.
