The introduction of "Lead-Free" alloys on 1 July 2006 is of paramount importance. Over the past few months, EAS has been working towards applying the standard, which was acknowledged by the European community well before was due to become effective. The introduction of “Lead Free” alloys will considerably influence our current operating system. Consequently, we will have to substantially modify our working methods, and staff training and purchasing new, suitable equipment will become fundamental. EAS has set itself precise aims for applying the standard over the next few months. In June 2005, we will already be able to produce using the new SAC alloy (Sn,Ag,Cu).
